Alessio Romenzi (Colle Sant’Angelo, 1974). Ha documentato fin dagli inizi la cosiddetta “Primavera araba” con particolare attenzione all’Egitto e alla Libia. Successivamente si è trasferito in Siria dove è stato uno dei primi fotografi a entrare nel paese quando il regime di Bashar al-Assad ha cominciato a ricorrere alla repressione contro l’opposizione e a negare l’ingresso ai giornalisti. I suoi scatti appaiono nelle principali riviste del mondo, tra le quali Time Magazine, Newsweek, New York Times, International Herald Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, Denver Post, Le Monde, Paris Match, Le Figaro, El Mundo, El País, La Repubblica, Il Corriere della Sera, Il fatto quotidiano, Internazionale, L’Espresso, Der Spiegel, Verdens Gang (VG), The Guardian and The National. Lavora anche con numerose organizzazioni umanitarie internazionali, come Amnesty International, MSF, Unicef, International Red Cross, Save the Children, Terres des Hommes, War Child International. Attualmente vive e lavora in Medio Oriente.

Syria, Al Qsair, on January 27, 2012. A member of Free Syrian Army during an attack operation against Syrian Army in Al Qsair. Al Qsair is a small town of 40,000 inhabitants, located 25 km south-west of Homs. The town is besieged since the beginning of November and so far it counts 65 dead.
